Starwars The Force Unleashed Demo Released Today

Unfortunately, Warik didn’t tell me until now! Now I have to download this 1353MB download and watch the trailer a couple hundred more times. If you got the PS3 or 360 go download it now!

For the few that don’t know, The Force Unleashed has you as Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, doing his bidding on discrete missions. The game already starts you out as a powerful jedi and fighting normal creatures/humanoids will take little effort, but as you go on, you’ll discover you have some powerful adversaries…

Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360!

Square-Enix did something that no one ever thought they would do. They went cross platform with their flagship title. Final Fantasy 13 (or XIII in super bowl numbers) will be available on the 360 as well as the PS3. I for one have decided that this decision is a result of me finally settling on getting a PS3 over an Xbox solely the exclusives and for Blu Ray reasons.

Grand Theft Auto 4 Xbox360 Outselling PS3 2-1

Microsoft is claiming that since GTA4’s release on Tuesday, the Xbox 360 version has been outselling the PlayStation 3 version in the U.S. by a two-to-one margin. “What we’ve heard anecdotally from our retail partners is that the Xbox 360 version of the game is outselling the PS3 version by a margin of two-to-one

Of course it is stated right in that quote that that is merely Microsoft’s own personal observation of the figures. Sony claims that the two to one ratio doesn’t fall in line with there own observaitons of the sales figures. So who is right?

Doom 4 Announced!

The demons are back and ready to get owned by some green marines. No real details were given on the game, but Doom is id Softwares bread and butter so you can be sure it won’t lack in visuals. For you game devs out there they are apparently also hiring for the project. i don’t know anyone in their right mind who wouldn’t want to work on Doom 4. It’s Doom man Doom. Do I sound like a fanboy or what?

Rockstar is Rockin the Chicago Transit Authority all the way to Court

Rockstar the publisher of the Grand Theft Auto series of video games is suing the Chicago Transit Authority for allegedly pulling ads for Grand Theft Auto IV. They are accusing both the CTA and its sales agent of breaking a 300,00 dollar contract. The ads were to run from April until June. Apparently the ads were pulled after a Fox news report cited the questionable nature of the ads in a city that is being over run in gang related violence.

Valve Confirms What We Already Guessed

Valve’s Doug Lombardi has told Eurogamer that you won’t see a new Portal this year.

Instead, the developer will knuckle down and try to do something as revolutionary as Half-Life 2 was to the original Half-Life - because that’s the Valve way.

Every Valve game has a long development cycle. That cycle has yet to let us down. I applaud the way Valve does things and wish more companies would follow suit. Then again Valve is some weird freak of nature compared to other companies who have to live or die by what their publisher wants.

Age of Conan Monthly Fee and Inital Server Strength

Ten Ton Hammer has a letter to inverstors from Funcom that leaks a little info. Only found a couple useful things myself they are:

• Funcom has at present scaled the server park for
the Age of Conan game for handling 500.000-
600.000 active subscribers for the launch period,
under a set of assumptions for playtime per
subscriber, number of subscribers per server,
number of subscribers per game clients sold etc.
Funcom may, in the period before launch, decide to
further adjust the server capacity according to the
game momentum leading up to launch.

• Key pricing parameters for the game will be:
o The subscription fee will be priced at 14,99
USD in North America and 12,99 Euro in
the European markets (plus VAT where
applicable)
